苏童，男，1963年生。1980年考入北京师范大学中文系。1983年开始发表小说，出版了中短篇小说集《妻妾成群》、《伤心的舞蹈》、《妇女乐园》、《红粉》等，长篇小说《米》《我的帝王生涯》、《武则天》、《城北地带》等。小说《米》《红粉》先后被搬上银幕，《妻妾成群》被张艺谋改编成《大红灯笼高高挂》获得威尼斯电影节大奖，《妇女生活》改编为电影《茉莉花开》后，获得了上海国际电影节金奖。现任江苏作协副主席，为中国当代文学先锋代表作家之一，多部作品翻译成英、法、德、意等各种文字。
